Firefighter to retire

Lt. Ron Gotts will retire from Eastside Fire and Rescue on May 31, the agency announced on Wednesday.

Gotts has been with Eastside Fire and Rescue for 22 years.

“Ron has been an asset to our department, and we will miss his professionalism and contributions over the years,” Fire Chief Lee Soptich said in a press release.

Gotts has served in many EF&R locations over the years including the Carnation station, the North Bend station and presently out of Station 72 on Maple Street.

He will be recognized for his years of service at the EF&R Board meeting at 4 p.m. on May 13 at the Headquarters Station, 175 Newport Way.
