Firefighters to stay on top of truck to collect food, clothing for needy

Eastside firefighters will have a novel “home away from home” for three days starting Friday, Nov. 28 — on top of a 24-foot moving truck. The accommodation is part of the fourth annual food drive by the Eastside Benevolent Fund that will collect food and clothing for the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank and the Mt. Si Food Bank.

The truck, provided by First Due Moves, will be in the parking lot of the Fred Meyer store in Issaquah, 6100 East Lake Sammamish Pkwy. S.E.

Firefighters will be on hand to talk to residents as well as collect the food and clothing donations.
