Hundreds of residents sprawled out at Pine Lake Park last week for the city of Sammamish’s first summer Concerts in the Park series.
About 600-800 people came out to hear upbeat hits fro the ’50s to today, as performed by the Funaddicts.
The city’s weekly outdoor concerts occur every Thursday starting July 13 and ending August 31 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Pine Lake Park, 2401 228th Ave. SE.
The events are free and open to the public.
Many concert goers brought their own snacks or purchased dinner from the Sammamish Rotary, which was selling hamburgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, chips and cookies. The Kiwanis Club of Sammamish was also selling ice cream. Both organizations were only accepting cash.
Parking was limited at Pine Lake Park. Parking was also available at Discovery Elementary School and the south Sammamish Park and Ride. There was a shuttle service running from the park and ride to Pine Lake Park before and after the concert.
The next concert, on July 20, features Chance McKinney, an industrialized country singer.
