Golf event May 18 to raise funds for children in Kenya

Thanks to the members of the Pine Lake Covenant Church, there are 300 children in an impoverished village in Kenya who today receive an excellent education, in classrooms with furniture and teaching materials and, incredibly, a warm, nutritionally supplemented breakfast and lunch at school.

Thanks to the members of the Pine Lake Covenant Church, there are 300 children in an impoverished village in Kenya who today receive an excellent education, in classrooms with furniture and teaching materials and, incredibly, a warm, nutritionally supplemented breakfast and lunch at school. These are things that these children wouldn’t otherwise have.

As a token of their great appreciation, the people of Kodera, Kenya have named their new school “Pine Lake Academy.”

But the members of the Sammamish church are not resting on their laurels, and are working to find sponsorship for 40 more children that still need assistance, through a project called Mercy Walk.

Mercy Walk was founded by a group of individuals committed to participating in projects to alleviate poverty worldwide, and is currently in partnerships with communities in Kenya, Romania and Mexico.

To try and meet their goal, the Pine Lake Covenant Church is hosting a 100 Holes golf day fundraiser at The Plateau Club on May 18.
