Congratulations to Kyle Hansen, a senior at Issaquah High School, who has been selected as the March Red Robin Scholar Athlete of the Month by the Issaquah Booster Club and Red Robin Restaurant.

Hansen is described by his teachers as an exemplary scholar athlete. His hard work and dedication have made him a shining example to all at Issaquah High School.

“Kyle has been a four-year varsity letter winner in track,” said Issaquah Track and Field Coach Gwen Robertson. “He has earned a varsity letter in football twice, has a 3.89 G.P.A., and plans on running track and playing football next year at Claremont McKenna in Claremont.”

Hansen was a member of the National Honor Society and volunteers at the Issaquah Farmer’s Market and the Eastside Baby Corner.

According to Robertson, he is always one of the first to arrive at practice and is one of the last to leave.

“He usually competes in 4 events each meet and is one of the team’s top scorers as a sprinter and jumper,” she said. “He is a positive leader as he sets a great example of working hard and competing to his best ability.

“I love being around my friends and running,” Hansen said. “I am really competitive and running is a good way to keep those competitive juices going.”

Next year he hopes to study legal studies and business at college.
