Transportation 2040 is a multi-agency effort toward long-range regional transportation planning.

Scheduled for adoption in 2010, the new plan will hopefully address climate change and sustainable financing for transportation, while trying to attend to the mobility needs of a growing region.

Transportation 2040 will also help guide federal transportation investments in King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish counties.

Transportation 2040’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) analyzes six plan alternatives and their impacts on the transportation system and the environment.

In addition to how the planned investments can be sustainably financed, PSRC is focused on providing information to the public on how these plan alternatives would impact congestion and mobility as well as air and water quality in 2040.
