Incumbents ahead in first wave of primary election results

As of 8:15 p.m. Tuesday night, Democratic incumbent Roger Goodman holds a comfortable lead over Sammamish Deputy Mayor Ramiro Valderrama in the race for the 45th District House of Representatives, Position 1 seat. Goodman drew 61.89 percent of the vote, while Ramiro, running as a Republican, has tallied 37.91 percent.

In the race for the 5th District House of Representatives Position 1 seat, Republican incumbent Jay Rodne leads Democratic challenger Jason Ritchie, earning over 55 percent of the vote to Ritchie’s 44.15 percent.

Republican Paul Graves leads the 5th District House Position 2 race, earning 47.13 percent approval. Darcy Burner obtained 36.12 percent and Matt Larson drew 16.68 percent.

Democrat Tana Senn leads challenger John Pass in the 41st District House Position 1 race with just over 63 percent of the vote.

Democrat Judy Clibborn is 3,105 votes ahead of nearest challenger Michael Appleby in the race for the 41st District House Position 2 seat. Clibborn leads with 53.92 percent of the vote. Appleby earned 34.86 percent, William Popp, Sr. obtained 9.14 percent and Angel Jordan drew 1.99 percent.

Democrat Mark Mullet holds a narrow lead over Republican challenger Chad Magendanz in the 5th District Senate race. Mullet turned out 50.09 percent to Magendanz’s 49.8 and leads by a mere 46 votes.

Republican incumbent Steve Litzow is ahead in the 41st District Senate race with 48.65 percent of the vote. Litzow leads Democratic challenger Lisa Wellman, who earned 47.63 percent and trails by 169 votes. Libertarian candidate Bryan Simonson drew 3.58 percent.

Final results will be certified Aug. 16.
