Thanks to the overwhelming support of AAA Washington members and the local community, AAA’s Soap for Hope donation drive recently collected and distributed a record 105,079 bars of soap and other toiletry items for charitable organizations throughout Washington state and northern Idaho. This represents a 68 percent increase compared to last year’s collection of 62,712 items.

The Issaquah AAA office alone collected more than 2,400 toiletry items. All items collected at the Issaquah office were donated locally to the Eastside Domestic Violence Program.

“The success of Soap for Hope is due in large part to the efforts of our members and community partners, which have done an amazing job supporting this event,” said Karen Freundlich, manager of AAA’s office in Issaquah. “We are so pleased to have their support every year. We simply could not do this without them.”

AAA Washington promotes their annual Soap for Hope toiletry drive in the Fall/Winter of each year. In addition, members of AAA and the local communities of its offices are invited to drop off new, full- and sample-size toiletry items, such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste and deodorant, year round at any AAA office in Washington and northern Idaho. In the past four years, AAA has collected and distributed more than 250,000 toiletry items to local charitable organizations.
