The FBI has arrested a 24-year-old Mountlake Terrace man in connection with the robberies at the Washington Mutual and US Bank in Issaquah as well as seven other banks in the area.

The man has net yet been charged so his name has not yet been released.

He was arrested on April 4, a day after robbing an Edmonds area bank, FBI special agent and spokeswoman Robbie Burroughs said.

“An alert Mountlake Terrace police officer spotted his car at a house,” Burroughs said. The car description was given following the Edmonds robbery.

“There was nothing too remarkable about him,” Burroughs said. The man would give the teller a note and then head outdoors after robbing the bank.

All of the bank robberies occurred at banks inside of stores. The first seven were in Washington Mutuals inside Fred Meyers.

The suspect was booked into King County jail and federal charges are forthcoming, Burroughs said.
