Aug. 18

DISPUTE: At 10:33 a.m., an officer was sent to a dispute between the complainant and a U.S. Postal Service employee. The complainant told police he had attempted to speak to a manager about a mail carrier forcing large mail into a small mail box, causing damage.

FROM A CERTAIN POINT OF VIEW: At 2:04 p.m., a person called the police department to ask if Issaquah police were utilizing military equipment like that used in Ferguson, Missouri. The responding officer advised that “the military uses military equipment, but that in our country the police are not militarized.”

Aug. 19

BUT WHAT DID IT DO?: At 1:29 a.m. an officer responded to the 900 block of Greenwood Boulevard Southwest, where a person was stabbing a trash barrel with a pocket knife.

SHOPLIFTING: At 5:06 p.m., an officer arrested a 33-year-old woman in connection to a theft on the 700 block of Northwest Gilman Boulevard. The woman had stolen $1,291.67 in miscellaneous items, which were recovered.

Aug. 20

SUSPICIOUS: At 9:56 a.m. a complainant advised she felt her ex-husband had entered her vehicle because she found a cigarette butt. She wanted the butt tested for DNA and her husband charged for violation of a court order. The officer advised that the butt could not be tested for DNA.

Aug. 21

VEHICLE PROWL: At 5:23 p.m. an officer took a report from a person who had been the victim of a vehicle prowl in the parking lot of Gold’s Gym. Credit/debit cards, cash a Gucci wallet and black leather purse had been taken.

FRAUD: At 1:24 p.m. a person came into the department to file a report regarding a business credit card used fraudulently. The complainant had noticed a charge exceeding $900 for cellular phone services.

Aug. 24

JUST BUSHED: At 2:29 a.m. an officer was dispatched to the Northwest Gilman Boulevard McDonald’s, where an intoxicated female was in the bushes on the drive-thru side of the restaurant. The woman was reunited with her friends.

ASSAULT: At 8:36 p.m. during a welfare check to the 300 block of Northwest Dogwood Street, an officer arrested a 23-year-old man in connection to a domestic violence assault in the fourth degree.
