If you’re thinking about going out for a meal on April 18, it could be served by Issaquah’s police chief.

The Issaquah Police Department, along with law enforcement officials from Snoqualmie and other local agencies, will be hosting their annual Tip-a-Cop event to benefit Special Olympics Washington from noon to 8 p.m. April 18 at the Issaquah Red Robin, 1805 Lake Dr.

However, donations will be accepted at Red Robin anytime between now and then.

During the event, police – along with the help of Special Olympics athletes and restaurant staff – will be serving patrons and collecting “tips” that will be donated to Special Olympics Washington, which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Local police will also bring several law enforcement vehicles to the event, and volunteers will be on site to take photos for donations.

This is the third time the Issaquah Police Department has participated in this event.
