The 2012 Issaquah Salmon Days won 11 awards, including a coveted Gold for the Haas Wilkerson Grand Pinnacle Award as the best overall festival in international competition.

The awards were given on Sept. 16 by the InternationalFestivals and Events Association, the governing body and association responsible for the festival awards each year.

“I am so grateful to a part of such an amazing community of people who have made Salmon Days what it is for the last 43 years,” said Festival Director, Robin Kelley. “It has always been the best to us; it’s nice and humbling to see it recognized on the world stage.”

This is the 57th IFEA award for Salmon Days since 2004 and the second time it has won Gold in the Grand Pinnacle.

Salmon Days 2013 takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 5-6 in downtown Issaquah.
