Authorities are searching for a man suspected of robbing two Eastside-area banks at gunpoint, and making off with an undisclosed amount of cash Feb. 12 and Feb. 17.

According to FBI special agent Roberta Burrows, the man first struck a US Bank branch Feb. 12 at around 2:45 p.m. in unincorporated Juanita.

He displayed a handgun to the teller, passed a note which demanded cash and quickly left the scene with the money before King County Sheriff’s deputies arrived.

On Feb. 17, the FBI said a man matching the description of the suspect robbed a Washington Mutual bank branch at 1195 N.W. Gilman Blvd., at 3:11 p.m. using the same methods.

According to an FBI advisory, the suspect “advised he was suicidal and willing to kill everyone in the bank.”

He fled in 1998 red Ford Mustang with aftermarket rims before police arrived.

No known associates are available at this time and police and FBI investigators did not disclose the amount of money taken during either the robbery.

The suspect is a Hispanic or Southeast Asian man in his 40s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build, according to the advisory.

He is considered armed and dangerous.
