Issaquah resident Evelyn Zabo was recently elected to the board of directors for the American Red Cross Serving King & Kitsap Counties.

The board elected nine new members to join its leadership, including Zabo, who manages the Global Microsoft relationship for Siemans in Issaquah.

“I’ve always believed that the Red Cross is an organization that truly serves people when they’re at their most vulnerable,” Zabo said.

For many years, Zabo has served the Red Cross by helping connect volunteers from the corporate world with positions at the Red Cross.

“We have more than 1,500 volunteers, so it’s always a continuous recruitment process,” she added.

The board told her they were interested in having her do more, and she decided it was a good fit.

“I wanted to make my involvement more specific. I want to be more active and integrated in implementing strategy,” she explained.
