The 2008 Issaquah Community Auction to benefit children will be at 6 p.m. April 26 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Issaquah. The auction is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Issaquah and the Issaquah Kiwanis Foundation, and proceeds will benefit local agencies that support the needs of children and families including Eastside Baby Corner, Friends of Youth, Eastside Domestic Violence, the Issaquah Food Bank and Compassion House. KIDSTAGE to perform “Aladdin Jr.” in April

Tickets are on sale now for the Village Theatre KIDSTAGE Ensemble production of Disney’s “Aladdin Jr.” The production involves 28 kids from fourth to eighth grade, and will run April 17-20 at the First Stage Theatre at 120 Front Street N., with shows at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, at 2 p.m. Saturday and at 2 and 5 p.m. Sunday. Cost for tickets ranges from $10-12; they can be purchased at the Box Office at (425) 257-8600 or at www.villagetheatre.org.

Auditions for young Mariners dancers

Dance Premier is auditioning young dancers for the 2008 Mini Grounds Crew to perform at various Mariners home games. Auditions will be from 7-8:30 p.m. on April 18, at Dance Premier Too in Klahanie.

Dancers must be between the ages of 6-9 and need at least two years of dance experience. If selected, each dancer must be available to perform at four to five home games throughout the season. Dancers must also be available during the months of April and May for four 30-minute practices on Friday afternoons from 4:15-4:45 p.m., with one dress rehearsal at Safeco Field before the first performance.

Those selected for the team will be given a custom Mariner’s jersey and four tickets for immediate family members for each game they perform at.

Eastside Fire employee retires

Last month saw the end of an era at Eastside Fire and Rescue as long time volunteer firefighter John Bridenbaugh retired after 26 years of service. Bridenbaugh started at King County Fire District 10 on Jan. 24, 1982. District 10 was incorporated into Eastside Fire and Rescue.
