Klahanie annexation ordinances to be read at Oct. 6 Sammamish City Council meeting

The proposed ordinances to add Klahanie to Sammamish's Potential Annexation Area will be opened to public comment.

The Sammamish City Council is expected to hold public hearings to modify the City Comprehensive Plan to allow for the potential annexation of Klahanie.

That ordinance will be read for the first time at the Sammamish City Council meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Sammamish City Hall.

The ordinance would designate Klahanie as being within Sammamish’s potential annexation area. A second proposed ordinance would establish contingent land use designations within the annexation area.

The council will also consider and vote on a resolution formally supporting Initiative 594. If passed in November by Washington voters, it would require people buying firearms from unlicensed sellers, such as online vendors and private owners, to pass the same background checks required by licensed sellers.

The meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers. For more information, call 425-295-0500.
