Dozens of Issaquahns came out to lend a hand to their home town via beautification projects.

The Downtown Issaquah Association coordinated projects along Front Street, Gilman Boulevard, State Route 900, Newport Way and in the city’s north.

Volunteers picked grime out of sidewalks, planted flowers, removed trash and engaged in other cleanup efforts.

Issaquah City Councilmember Eileen Barber volunteered with her young grandson Oliver.

“It’s a great day to volunteer,” she said. “Warm, with some but not too much cloud cover.”
