A local nonprofit is hosting a lecture May 23 on the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery’s new effort to save the Lake Sammamish Kokanee.

U.S. Fish & Wildlife biologists Jeff Chan and Roger Tabor plan to speak on what’s happened so far with the Kokanee Work Group, the differences between Kokanee and Sockeye and Kokanee population problems.

The event, hosted by Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery, is free to the public and begins at 6 p.m. at the Watershed Science Center on the hatchery grounds.
