Longer traffic delays expected on Parkway

Commuters and residents frustrated by delays being caused by roadworks on Eastlake Sammamish Parkway are being warned that they will get worse before they get better.

Commuters and residents frustrated by delays being caused by roadworks on Eastlake Sammamish Parkway are being warned that they will get worse before they get better.

According to the City of Sammamish, on Friday, June 19, the contractor is scheduled to begin asphalt paving along the east side of the roadway.

Very long delays are expected during this work, and motorists are strongly urged to use alternate routes and avoid the Parkway.

This work is scheduled to continue on Monday and Tuesday, June 22 and 23.

In coming weeks, there will be a complete closure of the Inglewood Hill Road/East Lake Sammamish Parkway intersection tentatively scheduled for the period between 5 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, and 5 a.m., Monday, August 3.

During this closure, the contractor will be making significant grade adjustments to the intersection.Alternative routes will be required because traffic will be unable to use the intersection.

A signed detour route will be in place during this closure.
