Original story: The 27-year-old man who went missing from his parents’ Sammamish home was found dead in Beaver Lake Wednesday evening, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

A family member reportedly found William “Reed” Probus under a dock near his house, according to Sgt. Cindi West, King County spokesperson.

Probus had returned to Sammamish Saturday, Feb. 13, after working overseas for several months. His parents reported him missing Sunday, Feb. 14, and told police he was depressed and possibly suicidal.

Earlier in the week, West said police do not expect foul play.

Police received a call shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday to report Probus’ body had been located. King County Sheriff’s Marine/Dive Unit responded and retrieved the body from under the dock Thursday.

The King County Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
