Eastside Fire and Rescue crews quickly extinguished a house fire in the 20800th block of NE Inglewood Hill Road in Sammamish Wednesday morning.

There were no injuries, Deputy Chief Richard Burke said.

A neighbor, who was working in his garden when he first saw smoke coming from the house, reported the fire shortly after 8:30 a.m.

He got the family of five living there out of the burning home and tried to put it out with his garden hose.

“The number one thing is he got everyone out of the house first,” Burke said. “We sure appreciate his efforts.”

Eastside Fire crews had the fire under control around 8:50 a.m.

The fire seems to have originated from the kitchen. Flames continued into the walls and attic.

Burke said, nationally, 70 percent of house fires originate in the kitchen.

King County Fire Investigation unit is currently looking into the exact cause of the fire and how much property damage it caused. The house is not livable, Burke said.
