As the fall rolls in, two familiar faces will be in unfamiliar territory.

As the fall rolls in, two familiar faces will be in unfamiliar territory.

The Issaquah School District has named the successors to the Executive Directors of Secondary and Elementary schools positions, left vacant earlier this year.

Patrick Murphy, formerly the principal of Maywood Middle School, was named the Executive Director of Secondary Schools. Murphy has 12 years experience in the administrative level of high schools and middle schools. He taught for four years in South Kitsap School District before serving as assistant principal at Bremerton Junior High from 1996 to 1999. He spent a brief period as assistant principal at Issaquah High before becoming assistant principal and eventually principal at Maywood Middle School. Murphy will oversee the middle schools and high school principals.

Jodi Bongard was also promoted from principal of Endeavor Elementary to Executive Director of Elementary Schools. Bongard previously taught for more than 10 years, and then served as Dean of Students at Lake Wilderness Elementary in Tahoma. She came to Issaquah in 2000 as the principal of Briarwood Elementary and became principal of Endeavor in 2005. Bongard will supervise all the elementary school principals.

Issaquah Middle School assistant principal Jason Morse will take over as principal of Maywood Middle School. Maywood Administrative Intern Seth Adams will be the new assistant principal.

Kathy Connaly, who was the assistant principal at Endeavor Elementary will take over as principal. Former Dean of Students at Liberty Andrea Hillman will take over as assistant principal.

The process for filling the positions was an internal one led by Superintendant Steve Rasmussen and his staff.
