Issaquah Parks and Recreation and Lunar Flicks have announced their “Movie on the Green” at the Issaquah Community Center will be “Night at the Museum.”

The movie is free to the public and will take place at 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 13.

The movie will be held inside if there is inclement weather.

Happy birthday to the Issaquah Library

The Issaquah Library is celebrating 100 years this weekend. There will be music and celebrations this Saturday at the library from noon to 5 p.m.

Firefighters from the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 2878 will be able to continue their tradition of “Fill the Boot” to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy Association. The firefighters had tried to hold an event earlier this summer, but were shut down due to the city’s panhandling ordinance. The event will now take place at the intersection of Front Street South and Sunset Way.

The event will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sept. 12.

Performances to be held at Farmers Market

The City of Issaquah Arts Commission and 4Culture, King County’s cultural services agency are hosting three jury selected performances at the Issaquah Farmers Market this month as part of the 4Culture Site Specific Program.

The program provides artists support for the creation and presentation of site specific work.

The performances in Issaquah will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On Sept. 6 Susan Robb will unveil her piece “Warmth, Giant Black Toobs,” a representation of the trash dumped in the ocean each year.

On Sept. 20 Vaughn Bell will show “The Cultivation Utility Vehicle.” In this demonstration the artist will travel through the area with a wooden vendor cart filled with miniature native plants that participants may “adopt” and learn more about.

On Sept. 27 Tiffany Lin will present “Music in Waiting,” a performance of classical and new music.
