A woman blew through a red light Wednesday evening in front of the Sammamish City Hall resulting in a two-car accident.
No one was critically injured, said Sammamish Officer Eric Lux, who responded to the accident. The woman driving a Honda CR-V, and the two younger children traveling with her, were transported to a nearby hospital for further examination, Lux said.
Shortly after 6 p.m., the woman traveling southbound on 228th Avenue Southeast ran the light at the Southeast Eighth Street intersection, smashing into the front right of an Acura Integra turning left onto 228th, according to witness testimony. The man driving the Acura had a green turn arrow.
After making contact with the Acura, the Honda veered off into the planter strip on the right of the roadway and came to rest against a tree planted above city hall’s parking lot.

Both cars appeared to be totaled.
The Sammamish Police Department and Eastside Fire and Rescue responded to the crash.
