No waste collection

Waste Management told the City of Sammamish today, Thursday, that no residential collection service would be provided in Waste Management’s service areas throughout King and Snohomish Counties. In Sammamish, this includes residents who live north of Northeast 8th Street/Inglewood Hill Rd.

If your garbage and yardwaste collection was scheduled for today, you may set out up to twice the regular amount of garbage and yard waste on your next collection day. Recyclables will be picked up on your next scheduled collection day

Waste Management will not collect garbage or recyclables from commercial customers today.

Waste Management said it had activated a contingency plan.

“We will begin providing limited critical services to commercial customers on Friday, April 23,” a representative wrote. “Our Green Team of drivers will be in place by Monday and we anticipate that services will be close to normal next week.”
