James Joseph Ottinger (J.J.), of Bothell, died on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009.

He was 63 years old.

J.J. was born on April 11, 1945, in Kirkland, Washington, the son of James and Lois Ottinger.

He was raised in Bellevue and graduated from Sammamish High School. He also attended Bellevue Community College.

J.J. served with the United States Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran.

He worked at Safeway Distribution Center for more than 20 years, and retired this past December from Astronics.

J.J. loved riding motorcycles, and especially anything to do with Harley Davidson. He was a past president of the Eastside Chapter of American Bikers Aimed Toward Education.

He loved travelling, especially in Costa Rica, which is where he was planning to retire to in February. J.J. is survived by his wife Dorothy, daughters Lisa and Carrie Ottinger, brother John Ottinger, two grandsons, step-daughter Jessica, many loving relatives, and a large extended family of friends.
