One man is in the hospital and one is in police custody after a stabbing attack that occurred in the early morning hours Friday.
The incident, which happened at about 2 a.m. on Oct. 3, occurred at the Overbrook Apartments, at the intersection of Newport Way Southwest and West Sunset Way.
Issaquah Police responded to a 911 hang-up call and found a man in his 20s bleeding from lacerations to the face and neck. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Police have the suspect, another man in his 20s, in custody at the Issaquah Police Department. They planned to transport him to King County Jail later in the day Friday, Sgt. Scott Behrbaum said.
Police from neighboring areas were called in to form a major case squad, with Issaquah leading the investigation. Issaquah Police also asked Kirkland detectives to assist with their Total Station, a computer-based survey tool used to accurately measure crime scenes. Total Station was also utilized in the investigation of a domestic violence stabbing death earlier this year. Kirkland received grant funding for Total Station and makes it available to neighboring police agencies when they need it.
Berhbaum said the victim was in critical but stable condition the last that they heard.
