Residents are welcome to attend an open house on the upcoming Issaquah-Fall City Road improvement project, still in its early design stages, from 6-8 p.m. May 12. A project overview is set to begin at 6 p.m.The event will be held at Pacific Cascade Middle School, located at 24635 SE Issaquah-Fall City Road.

The first phase of improvements addresses a section of the road, seven-tenths of a mile from 242ndAvenue Southeast to Klahanie Drive Southeast, which “suffers from heavy congestion during the morning and evening rush hours,” according to a city release. The city currently intends to widen this area to five lanes, with bike lanes, sidewalks and landscaping.

The city anticipates widening another section from Klahanie Drive Southeast to Issaquah-Beaver Lake Road to three lanes during the second phase of the project.

Construction could start as early as summer 2017, if approved.
