May 13

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: At 8:41 a.m. in the 900 block of NE Lilac St., a 39-year-old Renton man was arrested for fourth-degree assault. The domestic violence occurred in front of minor children.

MYSTERIOUS SCREAM: At 11:41 a.m. in the 6100 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE, the reporting party advised police that he heard a female yell from the dumpster area of Starbucks. Police checked the area and did not see anyone in distress.

PANHANDLING WITH CHILDREN: At 5:50 p.m. in the 6100 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE, police responded to Fred Meyer on a report of a possible child abuse in progress. The caller was concerned that a lady was panhandling in the area and had three children with her. Police contacted the mother, who said she had fallen on hard times and was trying to get money for a hotel.

May 14

OUT OF GAS: At 1:09 a.m. in the 18300 block of SE Newport Way, police responded to the area and contacted three females who were sitting inside a car. They advised they were there visiting a friend and had used the hot tub. The driver attempted to start her car but was out of gas.

LARGE OIL SPILL: At 11:27 a.m. at Southeast 43rd Way and East Lake Sammamish Parkway, police responded to a large oil spill on Southeast 43rd Way. There appeared to be a sheen trail from gas or oil on the roadway.

SLIPPERY ROADWAY: At 11:43 a.m. at Southeast 43rd Way and East Lake Sammamish Parkway, a vehicle spun and struck a curb, possibly due to the large oil spill. The vehicle was towed.

HOVERING HELICOPTERS: At 4:13 p.m. in the 1400 block of Highlands Drive NE, police received a complaint about people flying remote control helicopters int eh open field. The caller was concerned about the noise and that the helicopters were getting close to his house. At the time of the day, this would not be unreasonable noise, police determined. Upon police arrival, no one was there.

May 15

HOMELESS WOMAN: At 3:11 a.m. in the 700 block of NW Gilman Blvd., police contacted a woman who was sleeping inside the bank ATM area. She was advised not to loiter in that area.

SECRETS: At 6:37 a.m. in the 600 block of NW Juniper St., police contacted a man who said that his neighbor left him a note that he felt was threatening. The officer read the note and determined that it was not threatening, but it did say they knew the secret that he was having someone sleeping at his house.

HOMELESS MAN AT SCHOOL: At 8:07 a.m. in the 400 block of First Ave. SE, a man was sleeping by the entrance doors of the middle school. Police told him he can’t sleep there and he packed up and left.
