Pauly leads Winterstein in mayoral race

In the first wave of election results from King County, released at approximately 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Mary Lou Pauly was leading opponent Paul Winterstein in the Issaquah mayoral race by over 30 percent.

Pauly had earned 65.24 percent of the vote so far, while Winterstein was at 34.76 percent.

In the Issaquah City Council Pos. 1 race, Chris Reh was in the lead with 58.54 percent of the vote, while opponent Bryan Weinstein trailed with 41.46 percent.

In the Pos. 2 race, incumbent Mariah Bettise had a firm lead with 68.06 percent of the vote, while Richard Swanson had earned 31.94 percent.

Justin Walsh and incumbents Stacy Goodman and Tola Marts all ran unopposed and have been elected to Council Positions 3, 5 and 7, respectively.

When results were released, 292,466 ballots had been counted, with 23,120 left to count.

The next round of results will be released at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Results will be certifed on Nov. 28.
