Peddling without a permit, sexual assault, child abuse | Sammamish Police Blotter May 1-12

The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city of Sammamish. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

May 1

PEDDLING WITHOUT A PERMIT: A salesman was going door-to-door without a permit near Southeast 13th Place and 248th Avenue Southeast.

May 4

BIKE THEFT: Someone stole a student’s bike, which was secured overnight at Inglewood Middle School, 24120 NE Eighth St.

May 5

FORGERY: A woman tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill at the Shell located at 2936 228th Ave. SE.

ASSAULT: Police were dispatched to a new housing development at Southeast 20th Street and 229th Place Southeast for a reported assault around 8:34 a.m.

TAGGED: Someone spray painted a resident’s fence in the 4600 block of 238th Drive Southeast.

May 6

GARAGE: Someone forced open a detached garage in the 25000 block of Southeast Klahanie Boulevard around 3:30 p.m. and stole items from within.

ALCOHOL: Two adult males placed bottles of alcohol in bags and walked out of Safeway, 630 228th Ave. NE, without paying.

May 7

SMASH AND GRAB: A resident in the 25900 block of Southeast 39th Way reported that someone had smashed the front passenger window of their vehicle and stole a beer growler overnight.

PEDDLING WITHOUT A PERMIT: A salesman was going door-to-door without a permit in the 1300 block of 220th Place Northeast.

FEELING SUICIDAL: For the third time in two days, police were called to a residence in the 3500 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway because the resident there was feeling suicidal.

DWLS: Police stopped a driver in the 3800 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway for speeding. The driver was also driving with a suspended license in the third degree.

SMASH: Someone broke the rear window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of 228th Avenue Southeast.

May 8

ASSAULT: Residents in the 5300 block of 190 Place Northeast got into a verbal argument. Later that day, one of them struck his daughter in the head causing pain.

ASSAULT: A resident in the 25200 block of Southeast 35th Street reported around 11:30 a.m. a domestic violence incident that occurred the previous day where her husband shoved and hit her with a wine bottle. Her husband was currently out of town.

ARREST: Police arrested a driver in the 1500 block of 220th Place Northeast for driving with two warrants regarding driving while license suspended in the third degree.

RAPE: A resident in the 23000 block of Southeast 37th Street reported that she had been sexually assaulted.

May 9

CHILD ABUSE: Child Protective Services advised the King County Sheriff’s Office that they would be arriving at Discovery Elementary School to speak with an 8-year-old who may have been hit by his father with a belt and then thrown against a bike rack.

May 12

SUICIDAL: A concerned woman in the 4500 block of Klahanie Drive Southeast called police because she believed her fiance was suicidal. The person was “extremely hostile and had weapons present.” He denied feeling suicidal and police left.

SMASH AND GRAB: Someone smashed three vehicles in the parking garage located in the 300 block of 228th Avenue Southeast.
