Plane crashes in Carnation

The pilot of a light aircraft which crashed in Carnation Saturday has walked away with only minor injuries.

The pilot of a light aircraft which crashed in Carnation Saturday has walked away with only minor injuries.

According to King County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Sgt. John Urquhart, the plane crashed in a field near NE 124th and the Carnation-Duval Road at about 4 p.m. The pilot was the only occupant. He suffered an injury to his nose, and was taken to Overlake Medical Center for treatment.

The pilot told first responders a bird came through his windshield before the crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were notified and will conduct an investigation.
