Police Brief – High range DUI on 228th Avenue

A 33-year-old Sammamish man recorded a blood-alcohol level of .286, moments after allegedly crashing into another vehicle on 228th Avenue last week.

A 33-year-old Sammamish man recorded a blood-alcohol level of .286, moments after allegedly crashing into another vehicle on 228th Avenue last week.

The accident happened just before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

According to the police report, the intoxicated driver, in a 1997 Ford Expedition, crashed into the back of a slower vehicle in front of him.

The driver of that vehicle, though not seriously injured, reported neck and shoulder pain.

“(The 33-year-old) had a difficult time finding his drivers license, and I had to hold him up to prevent him from falling,” a Sammamish Police Officer reported in the media record.

The 33-year-old, who blew readings of .286 and .283 at the Sammamish station, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and causing an accident.
