Pushy door-to-door solicitor arrested | Sammamish Police Blotter Dec. 5 – Dec. 11

The blotter consists of Sammamish police officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Nov. 27

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARM: At 10:52 a.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 2200 block of 273rd Court SE. The vehicle, a red Mitsubishi Montero, was stopped at Southeast 32 Street and 251 Avenue Southeast. The driver was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of Newcastle. A firearm was found inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested and booked into King County Jail.

Nov. 30

NO LICENSE TO SELL MAGAZINES: At 5:37 p.m., police responded to a report of obnoxious, pushy solicitors attempting to sell magazines in the 1600 block of E. Beaver Lake Drive SE. Neither had a permit to sell magazine subscriptions, and one of the solicitors had previously received a warning for being in violation of the city’s solicitation ordinance. She was arrested and booked into Issaquah Jail.

Dec. 1

FRAUD: At 1:35 p.m., a resident in the 3100 block of 222nd Court SE reported fraudulent charges through her business account with Bank of America.

Dec. 5

CAR PROWL: At 8:26 a.m., police responded to a report of a car prowl in the 2600 block of 230th Ave. SE. The back passenger window was broken out and a backpack was taken.

IDENTITY THEFT: At 1:57 p.m., a resident in the 2200 block of NE 26th Place reported an unknown suspect attempted to apply for a credit card and an auto loan using their name.

Dec. 7

PHONE SCAM: At 12:51 p.m., a resident in the 2900 block of 200th Ave. SE reported receiving fraudulent phone calls asking for bail money.

PACKAGE STOLEN: At 1:08 p.m., policed received a report of a package theft at the Summerwalk Apartments, located in the 3800 block of Klahanie Drive SE. The package was signed for at the front desk, was delivered to the designated apartment and then was stolen.

PHONE SPREE: At 8:17 p.m., police responded to a report of fraud in the 24100 block of SE 34th Place. A victim’s AT&T account was used to purchase five iPhone 7Ss and shipped to an apartment in Kent.

PARTY FOUL: At 9:51 p.m., police responded to a report of a subject shoplifting liquor and other items from the Safeway located in the 600 block of 228th Ave. NE. The subject dropped two items, breaking them, while being followed by employees.

Dec. 8

BAG-O-WEED: At 3:59 p.m., a citizen found a tote full of suspected marijuana along a public roadway in Sammamish. The tote was turned over to Sammamish police for disposal.

Dec. 9

COUNTERFEIT BILL: At 10:30 a.m., a suspect reportedly used a counterfeit $100 bill at the Jackson’s food store in the 2900 block of 228th Ave. SE.

Dec. 10

CANNISTERS IN STREET: At 10 a.m., police responded to a report of nitrous oxide cannisters dummped in the street at the corner of Southeast 22nd Place and 259th Avenue Southeast.

CREDIT CARD FORGERY: At 2:39 p.m., a handbag was reported stolen from a vehicle at the dog park at Beaver Lake Park. Fraudulent charges were made at local stores on the stolen credit cards.
