‘Raise the Dough’ event raises $1,400 for Seattle Children’s

Hope on the Hill Guild raised $1,400 for Seattle Children’s Hospital at its fourth annual Raise the Dough event June 16.

The all-day event was held at Zeeks Pizza and Ben & Jerry’s in the Issaquah Highlands, where 20 percent of the day’s sales were donated to Seattle Children’s for uncompensated care.

“I am proud to help raise money for a cause that has always held a special place in my heart. Seattle Children’s Hospital saved my life when I was an infant” said Mark Mullet, owner of Zeeks Pizza Issaquah and Ben and Jerry’s Issaquah.

Hope on the Hill Guild members waved signs on the street while wearing a pizza costume, bringing smiles and waves from many adults during the evening commute.

“We had our best sales day for Hope on the Hill Raise the Dough and we have the community to thank for that,” said guild president and Event Chair, Leanne Nanakul. “In addition to raising money for Seattle Children’s, it is important to raise awareness about the hospital’s work and the need to support medical care for all children, regardless of their ability to pay. Special thanks to Zeeks and Ben & Jerry’s for helping us heighten awareness in the Issaquah community.”
