Recent Sammamish grad arrested on DUI and drug charges

An 18-year-old Sammamish woman was arrested at about 3 p.m. on Tuesday for the investigation of driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after Washington State Patrol and Issaquah Police Department responded to a one-car collision on the 1700 block of Northwest Maple Street.

The recent Skyline graduate was behind the wheel of a black BMW, and had driven into the bushes.

A state trooper arrived and determined that the girl was heavily intoxicated, with a breath alcohol level of .269. It was also determined that the 18-year-old had smoked marijuana and taken several prescription medications, including narcotic and depressant medications from a recent surgery. Officers found multiple prescription pill bottles, some marijuana, a marijuana pipe and a digital scale with marijuana residue in the car.

The suspect was booked into the King County Jail.
