NOT SO NEIGHBORLY: A Sammamish woman told police that she was stuck driving 5 mph in a 25 mph zone behind a black BMW, known to the Sammamish Police as the “habitual reckless driver” in the Timberline neighborhood. She said she was afraid to pass, as the driver has a history of rage. The driver, who also lives in the neighborhood, often “plays chicken” on the roadway and yells at others when told to slow down, she said.

WHAT A FIND: Sammamish Police arrested a 26-year-old Renton man with a $50,000 felony warrant for possession of stolen property in the first degree. Police initially made contact with the Renton man’s friend who had been sleeping in a vehicle in the 7-Eleven parking lot at 3302 East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE just after midnight. The man said he was coming down from a methamphetamine high, a relapse from almost 100 days sober, which is why he fell asleep waiting for his friend. Police recognized the Renton man as having an extensive criminal history and decided to hide behind an ambulance in the parking lot to wait for him to return. It was there the Renton man was discovered lying in wait under the ambulance. Police ordered him to crawl out, but had to assist the man because he had overdosed on Clonazepam, an anti anxiety prescription drug. He was later taken to the hospital, where police cuffed him to the bed.
