Road closures announced for Skyline homecoming parade

Portions of northbound 228th Avenue Southeast will be closed Oct. 10.

Motorists taking 228th Avenue Southeast through Sammamish next Friday may want to find a new route.

Skyline High School’s annual Homecoming Parade will march up 228th Avenue Southeast Oct. 10, taking a northbound route between Discovery Elementary School at 228th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 24th Street, and Skyline High School at Southeast 8th Street.

Northbound lanes on 228th will be closed from 4 to 6:30 p.m. that day, with the parade beginning at 5 p.m. Two-way traffic will continue on the southbound side of the street, however Sammamish city officials urge motorists to use alternate routes.

The Spartans will face the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles at 7 p.m., a week after a road district matchup Friday, Oct. 3, against the Redmond Mustangs.
