Safeway Inc. will hold the grand opening of its new store at 1451 Highlands Drive in the Issaquah Highlands with store tours beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25.

The store features LEED elements and other significant store features.

A ribbon cutting ceremony begins at noon, with Issaquah Mayor Ava Frisinger doing the honors.

A surprise check presentation will be made to a local non-profit and elementary school, and 1,000 reusable bags will be given out to the public once the store opens.

The public is welcome to attend the ribbon cutting.
