Issaquah's annual Salmon Days Festival, won seven Summit Awards from the Washington Festivals and Events Association on March 19 in Olympia for its 2012 theme, "Thrills & Gills."

Issaquah’s annual Salmon Days Festival, won seven Summit Awards from the Washington Festivals and Events Association on March 19 in Olympia for its 2012 theme, “Thrills & Gills.”

Salmon Days took silver in the top category, the Grand Summit Award, and nabbed first-place awards for Best Event Program, Best T-shirt, Best Other Merchandise and three Silver Summit Awards, for Best Commemorative Poster, Best Promotional Brochure and Best website within its budget category of $150,000 and over.

The WFEA Awards Competition is a professional competition attracting entries from festivals and event producers in the state of Washington. The competition strives for the highest degree of excellence in festival and event promotions and recognizes those in the industry who are continually improving the quality and image of festivals special events in the eyes of the community and media.

The 2013 festival, themed “Streaming Live,” is scheduled to take place Oct. 5-6 in downtown Issaquah.
