The 42nd Street barricade in Sammamish, which was damaged April 17 by an alleged intoxicated driver, was back up and functioning as of noon, today.

The repairs have been completed and crews were able to restore the emergency response function.

The street was estimated to remain open for up to three weeks to allow emergency crews access. Crews finished the project a week faster than anticipated.

Several community members came to the May 1 City Council meeting to voice their displeasure with the length of time the repairs took. Many questioned why there was no temporary gate in place.
