The city of Sammamish announced Friday it will close all public parks and athletic fields over the weekend due to the storm conditions expected to hit the region through Saturday.

The city of Sammamish announced Friday it will close all public parks and athletic fields over the weekend due to the storm conditions expected to hit the region through Saturday.

The Sammamish Rotary’s annual Nightmare at Beaver Lake, which hosted a dress rehearsal performance Thursday night and was scheduled to open to the public Friday evening, has been cancelled through the weekend.

Skyline High School has also cancelled its homecoming parade along 228th Avenue, which was scheduled for Friday evening.

Sammamish City Hall will be open until 5 p.m. on Friday. Residents experiencing power outages are welcome to recharge phones there.

Update: Nightmare at Beaver Lake is adding two days to its performance schedule. The event will reopen with the first of the two additional performances on Thursday, Oct. 20. The second will take place Thursday, Oct. 27. Kristina Williams, secretary president-elect with the Sammamish Rotary, told the Reporter any prepaid tickets will be honored on any remaining show dates.

Update: Skyline High School is rescheduling its homecoming dance, originally set for Saturday evening, to Oct. 22. As of 1 p.m. Friday afternoon, Skyline’s football game against Inglemoor is scheduled to go on Friday evening as planned.

Update: The city of Sammamish announced Friday afternoon that Sammamish City Hall will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. The Sammamish Community YMCA will keep normal hours this weekend unless it has to close due to a power outage. The city is encouraging residents to clear storm drains and catch basins near their homes to reduce local flooding.
