Sammamish Planning Commission aims to gather public input on potential changes to city code

The potential changes are related to concerns citizens spoke out about regarding the relationship between residences and group homes, daycares, religious organizations or schools, according to a city press release.

Sammamish residents are invited to give input next week on some proposed changes to city code.

The Sammamish Planning Commission, appointed to advise the Sammamish City Council on land use policy, will hold a public hearing at Sammamish City Hall Dec. 3 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The potential changes are related to concerns citizens spoke out about regarding the relationship between residences and group homes, daycares, religious organizations or schools, according to a city press release.

The topics up for discussion include parking lots and loading area design; storage and screening of waste containers in residential zones; traffic generation; and outdoor lighting.

The public hearing “is an opportunity for community members to provide perspectives and input” for the commission’s recommendation to city council, according to the release.

Sammamish City Hall is located at 801 228th Ave. S.E.
