Sammamish Toys For Tots enters 10th anniversary

Sammamish City Hall will open itself to Toys For Tots donations on Nov. 2.

Detective Amy Jarboe was with the Sammamish Police Department when she started collecting  donations for Toys For Tots in 2005.

Jarboe has continued to collect  donations at Sammamish City Hall, though she’s since taken a job with the Woodinville Police Department. Working with the U.S. Marine Corps, which is sponsoring the collection, she made Toys For Tots a holiday tradition in Sammamish.

“Sammamish residents have always given so generously, I wanted to stay involved even though I now work in Woodinville,” Jarboe said in a press release. “At this time of year, it’s always so rewarding to come back and help organize this effort on behalf of needy kids.”

Additionally, Marines and Santa Claus will attend the Very Merry Sammamish event 5:30-8 p.m. at City Hall.

Donations of new, unwrapped items will be will be welcome from Nov. 2 to Dec. 10.
