The city of Sammamish will host a storm water open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Sammamish City Hall.

The city of Sammamish will host a storm water open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Sammamish City Hall.

Residents will be able to discuss the issues with consultants and city staffers at informational booths, and listen to a presentation at 6 p.m.

The primary focus of the open house will be on the Storm Water Design Manual and the Low Impact Development (LID) code review and update process. The city held an earlier storm water open house on July 21.

King County Metro, Sammamish seek community feedback on transportation

King County Metro is working with communities across King County to develop mobility services to meet local transportation needs.

The city of Sammamish and Metro will be forming a working group to explore how alternative services might fit some of the city’s transportation needs. The group is seeking community feedback.

Those who would like to participate in the working group and can commit to four-to-six evening meetings this fall, or those who would like to simply stay informed about the process moving forward, may contact King County Metro at haveasay@kingcounty.gov or 206-263-9768.

Metro will also provide other opportunities for the public to provide feedback on transportation needs and potential alternative service solutions. Such opportunities will include open houses, City Council meetings and online surveys.

Sammamish Fall Recycling Collection Event Sept. 18

Discovery Elementary and Eastlake High School will host the Fall Recycling Collection Event and Bin Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18.

Household goods and clothing, mattresses, appliances and scrap metal will be among the accepted items at Eastlake High School.

Mattresses and box springs will be accepted with a $15 cash charge. Porcelain toilets and sinks will also be accepted with a $15 cash charge, while propane tanks and water heaters will be accepted with a $5 cash charge.

Electronics and computer equipment, television sets and refrigerators and freezers will be accepted at Discovery Elementary. Each refrigerator or freezer will be accepted with a $25 cash charge. Household air conditioning units will be accepted with a $33 cash charge.
