Sammamish woman attacks deceased mother’s friend | Police blotter

Police were called to a Sammamish gas station Jan. 17 after one woman reached through an unrolled car window and punched another woman several times in the face.

Police were called to a Sammamish gas station Jan. 17 after one woman reached through an unrolled car window and punched another woman several times in the face.

The 44-year-old victim was driving a vehicle gifted to her by her friend, who recently died.

The daughter of the recently deceased woman became upset when she noticed the car was missing from her home. She heard from a friend the car was parked nearby in the 3000 block of 228th Avenue Southeast and walked over to the gas station where she confronted her mother’s friend.

The daughter demanded the woman transfer the title over to her. The woman said she would as soon as she paid her. The daughter reached through the window and assaulted her.

The victim didn’t want to file charges, stating they were both upset and emotional after losing a mother and a friend.

VANDALISM

A Sammamish woman called police Jan. 14 to report someone shoved an object in the lock to her mailbox damaging it to the point where it couldn’t be opened.

The woman, who lives in the 4000 block of 194th Place Northeast, said this was the second time in the last month someone vandalized her mailbox.

No other neighbors reported vandalism to their mailboxes and the woman is unsure who would want to destroy her lock.

GROCERY THEFT

Workers at the Sammamish QFC called police Jan. 18 to report a customer stole a cart full of groceries estimated at $100.

Police reviewed a security tape and discovered the vehicle the man was driving belonged to a Kennewick man, who reported his vehicle stolen in SeaTac.

DUI

A 44-year-old Sammamish man was arrested Jan. 14 after police witnessed him driving at reckless speeds near the intersection of Southeast 43rd Street and Issaquah Pine Lake Road Southeast.

The man, who was clocked at 55 mph in a residential area, displayed slurred speech after pulling over. He denied drinking before blowing a .159.
