A 33-year-old Sammamish woman awaits felony charges for possession of heroin.

The woman admitted to having the opioid in her vehicle after Sammamish police pulled her over on March 13 for driving while license suspended in the third degree in the 1400 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE around 6 p.m.

She told the officer she had last used the drug that morning, according to police records.

With her permission, the officer searched her vehicle and found a small black and white bag with multiple needles, about 37 small plastic baggies with brown residue inside and a metal drink lid converted into a spoon-like object, as well as another small bag with 2.5 grams of heroin inside, according to the report.

The woman was released on the scene and called her father to pick her and her vehicle up.
