Downtown Issaquah’s Christmas tree lighting is set for 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at Pedestrian Park, near the intersection of Front Street North and East Sunset Way.

Santa is also scheduled to arrive — subject to polar weather conditions, of course — at 5 p.m., and the tree lighting is set to go at 5:15 p.m.

The downtown tree-lighting celebration welcomes area residents far and wide to enjoy hot cocoa, cider, cookies, music and caroling. Children and parents can also celebrate the yuletide by decorating cookies or meeting Santa in person.

Visitors are encouraged to spread the holiday cheer by donating a nonperishable item for the Issaquah Food Bank.

The Reporter’s Dec. 4 front-page mention of the event incorrectly described the tree lighting event taking place on Saturday, December 6 at the intersection of Dogwood and Front streets. That information was from last year’s event, and the Reporter regrets the error.
