Don't know what to do with that tree now that Christmas is over? The Sammamish Boy Scout troops have an answer.

Don’t know what to do with that tree now that Christmas is over? The Sammamish Boy Scout troops have an answer.

On Jan. 5, for the 28th consecutive year, the organization will recycle trees for Sammamish and Issaquah Highlands residents.

Last year over 200 Scouts participated and 3,500 Christmas trees are estimated to have been recycled.

Trees will be picked up curbside starting at 9 a.m. The suggested donation is $15-$30 per tree and payment should be put in a plastic sandwich bag and attached to the tree.

The Scout Tree Drive is the primary fundraiser for six troops on the Plateau. All donations fund Scouting programs in Sammamish.
