Skyline boys lacrosse moves into state quarterfinals

Connor Brandt scored four goals and Spencer Matches grabbed 19 ground balls, propelling Skyline into the Boys Division I state lacrosse quarterfinals with a 19-3 opening-round playoff win over Tacoma, Tuesday at Skyline High School.

Max Saffle and Jeremy Villieux each contributed three goals and Dan Seil had nine saves in goal in the opening round victory.

The Spartans advance to play Bainbridge in the quarterfinal round, Friday at Bainbridge High School.

The opening round of the Boys Division I lacrosse playoffs continue tonight with Stadium visiting Issaquah, Overlake taking on Curtis and Northshore visiting Puyallup.

The first and second-place finishers in the Northeast and Southwest Conferences — Mercer Island, Bellevue, Bainbridge and King’s Way — all have opening round byes.
